Christl Hughes MBE, Trustee elected as President of Leicestershire Law Society

Congratulations to our Trustee, Christl Hughes MBE who has recently taken the reigns as Leicestershire Law Society‘s President.

This appointment is well earned as she has played a vital role in supporting the profession over the years. From 2015 to 2018, Christl served as Chair for The Solicitors’ Charity where she strived to make a real difference for those in need.

During this time, the organisation adopted the Joseph Rowntree Minimum Income Standard as a benchmark for assessing financial needs. In addition, the charity increased its number of beneficiaries (by 22%) and funds made available to them (by 65%).

Speaking of her appointment, Christl said:

I am delighted to take on the role as President of Leicestershire Law Society. I will appoint The Solicitors’ Charity as our Charity of the Year and look forward to finding ways to really support colleagues in this region.

Earlier this year Christl was awarded an MBE in the 2020 New Year’s Honours for her services to Equality and Charity. Her dedication to making a positive impact on peoples’ lives really shows and we are privileged to have her on board.
